Wake Up - Kimberley Ann Ashby
Do you ever get that feeling
that one that creeps up
lingering on the nape of your neck?
Waiting until it blends in, into ignorance
it binds to you, concealing itself now.
How long has it been?
I’ve noticed noticed my vision beginning to lag.
I can’t keep up
with these ever-changing frame rates.
Was it always like this?
It’s all less real than it was
you’re less real.
Except for that feeling.
I can’t ignore it now.
Thank you for reading Wake Up.
I think sometimes we have days where we do feel less in touch with reality, like it’s moving and we’re standing still. Or perhaps I just wish it would stand still a little longer.
